I was recently introduced to a new program created by Herraiz Soto & Co, called Ommwriter. It is a very simple, minimal text processor that attempts to make writing a pleasure again. It keeps you from multi-tasking when you just need to zone out and concentrate. I don't know about you, but I multi-task far too much while trying to write something and often end up so distracted, that it takes me twice the time it should to get it done.
So far, I love the program! I quickly and easily downloaded it and once opened, it filled my screen with one of three peaceful and serene backgrounds. It also has seven ambient tunes you can have playing, as well as seven different keyboard sounds. I found that it provided all the convenience of working in a crowded coffee shop... minus the conversations (you know, the ones you can't help overhearing), the trouble of finding an outlet, and the pricey cup o' joe.
Having the ambient sound, clicks of the keys and only one screen to look at really helped me concentrate and get even this blog post done quickly. I like the sounds so much, I'll probably keep them on in the background while I work.
