Yo, yo, yo, yo.....it 5 de Mayo bro!!! Break out the tequila, mix the margaritas, and eat chocolaritas and lets get the party started!!:)

As you all know 5 de Mayo is a VERY important Mexican holiday being its Mexico's Independence Day.......NOT!!! Haha you are "May 5, 1862 Mexican forces are victorious over French forces in the Battle of Puebla" incompetent! Ooooh ignorante!!! Who doesn't know 1862 history?!! I'll let it slide this time, but next year you all better bring yo' knowledge!!

So, although 5 de Mayo is recognized in Mexico, it is mostly celebrated regionally around Puebla because the victory took place there. Around the U.S, it's definitely been celebrated as a huge "Mexican Fiesta" but Mexico's REAL independence day is on the 16th of September (Dieciseis de Septiembre) ......now that my friends is a libations overload in Mexico!

Also, did you know that on this day Alan Sheppard became the first US astronaut by traveling 115 miles into space in his Mercury 3 capsule!!! Crrrrraaaaazzzzzzyyyy!!!! Even more reason to celebrate today!!
